A friend of mine had a great blog called "Game Journalists are Incompetent Fuckwits", where he listed all the stupidity that these so-called "journalists" were spouting. Sadly, it seems he shut it down.

These people are not even close to be journalists, nor do they have any ethics.
They are not better than the average user you'll find on any game related forum or community, with the exception that they mostly state their real name, thus don't spout out vulgarities too easily.
Their only job is to babble all the latest rumor and add their own speculations for the next "journalist" to post it as factoid.

It's basically a circle jerk, where everyone is holding the dick of another one.
And very often, there are a few fat, corporate dicks in it as well.

It did get into mainstream "news" for a brief moment of time when it first kicked up, but yeah, most normal people (and hell, most gamers) don't give a shit.

I'd get worked up about that Law and Order episode if TV didn't have ridiculous ideas when it came to video games or computers in general. I saw a SVU episode a couple months ago essentially about Second Life where the 20 year old college girl got kidnapped by a patron of her online pedophile strip club she ran in the game. You know, like people do.
