I was thinking that while the Coalition are busy turning themselves into a parody of the last government Labor would relish in the freedom to turn themselves into more than just "the other guys". But no, they're just displaying the same lack of self-awareness as the Coalition and parroting the same lines the LNP used against them during their leadership dramas. Hey guys, it's not like you're immune from being hypocritical just because you were turfed out!
If the LNP does continue to self-destruct and next year's election sees them replaced by Labor I have no confidence that this same sorry situation won't play out again. Trade Tony's three word slogans for Bill's poor attempts at pop culture references, once people realise they have just as much substance the polls will dive, backbenchers will get scared, rumours and chatter will build and bam, here we are again with old footage. It seems leaders being unable to see out a new term is another thing we're just going to have to accept from politicians along with being unable to live up to promises, lying, and rorting entitlements.
