....I may get this.
no no dude, the original Oldboy truly is a great film, so a comparison isn't fair to Spike Lee (except for the fact he knew exactly what he was getting into by doing a remake). It's not that the latest version sucked - it's that Spike Lee can't replicate the cinematography of the original. That's just the reality of it. The scene of him fighting the mob in the hallway...get chills just thinking about how well it was shot.SuperJail Warden wrote:
I never saw the original Oldboy. I usually don't care for foreign films. I did watch Spike Lee's Oldboy the other day. I give it a 7/10. Having not seen the original I was able to judge it on its own merit instead of against the Korean version. Fanboys were going to hate it no matter what which reminds me of the saying that "the worst part of any media is its fan".
My gf sent it to me. I was pissed.Adams_BJ wrote:

Spike Lee wanted to do the movie but bigger in order to do the original justice. The studio made him cut a hour 20 minutes from the final cut. The hallway scene he filmed was 3 times as long. I hope the original cut comes out on DVD. I would buy it.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

that's a copout excuse though. "Oh, it was the studio's fault" says the guy who has worked in Hollywood for 30 years and therefore knows the way Hollywood works. Doesn't matter - Spike Lee didn't make as good a movie. He can blame it on the studio, but as far as I'm concerned it's a Spike Lee film.
Lee disavowed it. It isn't a "spike Lee joint". You didn't find the movie at all enjoyable? I watched it with someone who didn't even know of the original. He enjoyed it.
it was enjoyable, but unfortunately for me, finding something 'enjoyable' isn't the same as saying it's a good movie. I thought Thor Dark World was enjoyable, but i'd hardly say it was a good movie.

A daily total of how many babies were eaten by dingos and whatnot.
Sounds good. Right up my alley.
I made a bad joke and I may have started a fight.
I saw the Godzilla trailer and noted the part where they inferred that the nuclear tests in the Pacific were really efforts to fight Godzilla. Because Greenpeace NZ played a leading role in protesting against and stopping nuclear testing in the Pacific I tweeted "New Godzilla trailer suggests it's all Greenpeace NZ's fault. Nice going guys, you've doomed us all."
Thing is I think Greenpeace NZ took it seriously and are now trying to make an issue of it with Warner Bros.
I'm a bad person. Still, I love fucking with Greenpeace.

Why the hell is Northface so expensive? Went to order one as a gift and cried a little. They don't seem to be higher quality than the stuff I buy for myself. I always thought the brand was cheap since their stuff doesn't look very special. My $40 sweater is as warm as that $90 fleece jacket women love.
The quality of the jacket is probably better in places you can't see, like fully tape sealed seams over critically tape sealed, the material may have a higher waterproof or beathability rating. Materials sourced may be of a higher quality or the workmanship may be worlds ahead.SuperJail Warden wrote:

Lots of reasons.
