anyway, long story short, it was like 11pm, all the tiny dusty stores up in the hills (very non-touristy) were shut, and i ended up walking into what i thought was a 'bar'. should have known from its faraway-removed location alone, really. i asked if i could buy a bunch of beers "to take out", and they looked at me very strange. ushered me in anyway. inside i realized: holy fuck, this is a seedy ass strip-club/brothel. they only sold alcohol out of a fridge or freezer, by the can (no draught). clearly wasn't licensed. they gave us a massive carrier bag full of these tiny (but good tasting) spanish beers. they charged us like 50 euros (that's like the budget for a proper night out in a club there).
couldn't back down though, or say no. i was in too deep. hahaha.

Baseball is a quality time and I would have loved to have gone to a game during my time in the US. Alas, it was too early in the year and spring training had just started as we were leaving.
