Went to cash my $200 birthday check and the guy sold me so good on re-opening an account that I couldn't resist and re-opened one with my old bank Suntrust.
Feels good to know I'll finally be able to buy things online again without having to ask somebody else to do it for me since I don't have a card to order shit with.
Also they can't charge me any bullshit $7 maintenance fees(which got my account closed in the first place because they ran it out) since my job will have direct deposit

Jeez you are that broke that you don't even have a savings or checking account.
Yeah, the past two years I've mostly been just scraping by on computer sidejobs, it was enough to keep my tank 3/8ths full and buy an occasional game every now and then. Didn't feel like re-opening an account with Suntrust until they either got rid of the maintenance fee bullshit or I had a job
Join a credit union. ???
banks in the us charge a fee for a standard personal account?
it depends, but generally no.
i might be going on vacation for the first time in my life. no joke.

call it a 'vacation' all you want, i think we both know that your trip to pakistan won't involve much leisure.13/f/taiwan wrote:

Most banks charge a maintenance fee on savings accounts if they are below a minimum (usually $300 or so), or if it's a checking account, you have to make like two debit card purchases a month in order to do away with the fee.Dauntless wrote:
