why wasn't the town evacuated as soon as a problem occurred? i don't get it. you have a giant fertilizer plant right on the doorstep of a school/nursing home, but you don't have tornado-siren style warning systems? even though fertilizer is like the main ingredient in most... home made terrorist bombs? lol.
Reminds me of that rocket fuel plant that went up.
ATF has been watching people who buy large amounts of fertilizer with ammonia nitrate if they don't own a farm.Jaekus wrote:

And people were screaming about drug cartelsA former justice of the peace now faces capital murder charges in the killings of two Texas prosecutors and the wife of one of them, authorities announced Thursday.
Eric Williams' bail has been set at $23 million in the March killings of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, and the January slaying of Mark Hasse, one of McLelland's assistant district attorneys. Williams was already in jail on a charge of threatening investigators probing the killings, and his wife had been charged with murder on Wednesday.
"The murder of a public official, such as a judge a prosecutor or a law-enforcement officer, is an assault on all the people of the state, because it's an attack of the rule of law," said Kirby Dendy, chief of the Texas Rangers.
Kaufman County Sheriff David Byrnes said the killings stemmed from Williams' "past legal problems with the criminal justice system of this county" -- a 2012 conviction on burglary and theft charges that led to his removal from office.
His wife, Kim Williams, was booked early Wednesday on murder charges. She confessed in detail to her involvement in the scheme and implicated her husband as the trigger man, according to court papers.

truly horrifying. didn't obama say he was going to shut this shit down? it is a travesty. americans love to bitch about north korea, even though they are complicit with their own yankee doodle gulag, contravening all international law. this is a stain on the recent history of the US/UK, imo, one measure short of a concentration camp.
obama has gone back on just about every decent promise he made for his election. what a crook.

The military also challenged Obama's executive order. On May 20, 2009, the United States Senate passed an amendment to the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2009 (H.R. 2346) by a 90-6 vote to block funds needed for the transfer or release of prisoners held at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp
I'm not going to argue against saying that Obama has gone back on a lot of his promises but he did indeed try to close the camp. I think the mistake was in making the promise in the first place.
Also, I think this should have received more attention this week

That non-partisan commision made the recommendation to delcare the "war" over and close down Gitmo in 2014.
