BF2S Forums cant play

It means what it seas it can't find bf2/shaders/lighting.fx  "lighting.fx" in that path. your best option would be to reinstall the game.

Or you can ask someone to give you that file, and you can just simply add it to that path which should fix your problem.

I had the exact same problem

all you do is:

In here:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Shaders_client.zip

copy Lightning.fx and Rain.fx and copy them into here:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\shaders

and then it all works
