You know, with the seemingly low rate at which people are convicted of the crime, people accused of rape should have their name protected just like the victim's is until they are proven guilty. Same probably goes for any crime.
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough." -Frederick Bastiat
The criminal justice system in America is completely broken. While I find it difficult to feel bad for people that willingly broke the law, I think the punishments meted out do more harm than good in the long run. I also think many of the laws are asinine.

of course you do, seeing as you want every single newly elected US government official to read EVERY SINGLE LAW as part of their brief.
i imagine you'd have to classify 99.9% of all laws as asinine for that to be possible
funny thing about that video macbeth. the head of my schools "law" department went on cnn and defended the officer's actions. there was an uproar at my school and people we're calling for the professor to be fired but he has tenure. i almost took a class with him until i realized that it wasn't necessary.
I don't believe in bounty hunters. In he U.S. bounty hunters are private citizens who track down bail jumpers and bring them back for rewards. There is zero training required for a permit to do this at least in NJ. In the video below a group of women bounty hunters attempt to arrest a felon bail jumper. They tape it in hopes of getting a T.V. show like Dog the bounty hunter did after he kidnapped an American citizen in Mexico. The man in the video is now suing the women for a million dollars because he lost sight in one of his eyes due to the rubber bullets one of the cunts is seen shooting him with.
""And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating her citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains, the government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton field, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, not God Bless America. God damn America — that's in the Bible — for killing innocent people. God damn America, for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America, as long as she tries to act like she is God, and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens."
Every Professor I've had who was or is a cop, with the exception of one, is easy in terms of work. It was all high school level work. They shouldn't even be teaching at community college.
most people who get drawn to a career in a police-force normally have questionable, psychopathic motives. very few people have such a firm conviction in lofty ideals and abstractions like 'justice'. it is hard to genuinely give a shit about these things, and even harder when your everyday job tasks involves hustling people on the street and issuing parking tickets. so ya, very few cops are in the actual profession for the 'satisfaction' of 'protecting the peace'. most of them are in it because they like being invested with some power and a position of authority. it's textbook freudian.
Many, but not all, Police I've met are dicks on a power trip. And I know some utterly corrupt Police in the UK, that story could be blowing up soon.
Some local career bobbies can be pretty good though, I ended up in a Police station doing some car related paperwork and the sergeant said "Aha, you're the chap with the .32 Smith and Wesson, we've just had a Luger Artillery handed in, would you be interested?" You can't beat service like that. (It had already gone off to auction by the time I got round to the local dealer unfortunately)
SAPOL Have been uniformly friendly, helpful and professional. They still seem to be a part of the community.

Don't think you could say the same thing a few hundred miles to the east, though...
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be. ~ Richard Feynman
let's not pretend most gun nuts don't want a luger because of its nazi ww2 antique connotations. the same reason people obsess over hitler youth knives.
