yeah, i bought sc2 and was hyped for it on release. i played for about 3 weeks. i never 'got into' it, though. never played more than about 10 games. i played starcraft when i was a kid... around my friend's house, on LAN. something social between 13 year old friends. not an uber-serious esports event.

thanks for explaining my own life to me though. i'm sure any of bf2s's hardcore sc2 players, like lucien, could inform you that i never played. they have me on their battle.net friends.

oh and from that soul-crushingly witty search query:

ive played pro-level at a lot of fps games but wouldn't even consider the no-life levels of asian-hardcore required for, say, starcraft or warcraft.

my sentiments exactly. i was excited for sc2 as a surrogate 'new blizzard' product for all my forlorn WoW feelings. i played less than 10 multiplayer games.

please troll harder. my interlocutor is a guy with a computing degree. let's not try and make any tendentious claims about "degrees getting you anywhere". he has the bottom-ranked degree of usefulness of any degree in western academia. my degree has got me plenty far enough already, thanks. whereas sc2 and games like that literally involve a time and mental involvement that literally leads to nothing.

i'm sure australia is nice. i have a few friends i've mentioned before who moved out there for work or for a year's roaming. they didn't live with their parents, though. you know, being 21+ and all.
