i also find black history month ridiculous. i always have done. stupid positive discrimination.

what's that got to do with stating there is a history of african american culture? wanting to eliminate race altogether is just the latest liberal strategy to 'overcome' america's historic race stratification. luther king when he said "we are all created equal" was making a statement of social right and opportunity. denying a certain race or class's culture is inane. every social group or sub-culture has its own culture.

these people were all progressives. they all wanted black equality. 'there is no african american culture'? lol. jesus fucking christ. i really don't know why this is a point of contention.

You know, it's funny, you're the first one to go off on a rant if an American traces their genealogy and says they're x% Irish, y% German but you think it's a-ok for roc to focus on his own racial roots like it's his job. No one ever said that black-centric culture hasn't cropped up all throughout American history, but you're under the false impression that it impacted everyone. Honestly, no one in New York gives a fuck what goes on in Detroit. I showed you the map the other day, America is big. It would be like you obsessing over or caring what happens in Riga. Do you care about Riga? It's part of Europe and you are white. Does it impact your life?

Roc lives on Long Island, in New York. I don't know him personally, but I know him well enough to know that he goes to basically an all-white (because it's an expensive-ass private school) college in the suburbs of Long Island and he seems to be perfectly fine with that. Now you're trying to say that he shouldn't be because of his skin color. Racist.

detroit/chicago's musical and social legacy has a massive impact here, now, in london. in berlin. in europe, yes. it also has a direct impact on the new york house scene. just because you don't know what you're talking about, doesn't mean it doesn't exist, jay. i said it is funny that he dissed the legacy of a sort of music that went out of its way to fight for the rights/recognition of people of his colour. i think pointing out that small irony is quite different from saying "you should only go to a black southern college, only listen to atlanta rap music, and only eat KFC and watermelons". i am not being racist by saying it is ironic to diss something that tried to positively help the cultural history of his race. you are being thick.
