Unfortunately in the process of converting Half-Life 1 and Counter-Strike 1.6 to Linux, Valve has dropped the old sound engine that supported EAX/A3D and replaced it with that Miles garbage. I installed Blue Shift just to do a comparison because it hasn't be converted yet and there's no question that whatever was rendering sound before sounds much better than Miles does. If they would've just converted to OpenAL instead, it would've accomplished compatibility with all three platforms and still kept hardware acceleration possible, what a terrible decision.
They've also dropped Direct3D entirely as well in the converted games and now only have Software and OpenGL video renderers but there's really not any noticeable disadvantage there as far as I can tell

I wonder how it actually changes it. The latest Madden has the ability for you to call audibles and snaps using Kinect and Skyrim was patched to allow you to do shouts with it so I think it can possibly be pretty cool when Kinect is used as an add-on like thatunnamednewbie13 wrote:

If the Kinect wasn't drunk 90% of the time, I'd think that might actually be a novel way to play a game.

I am very disappointed that they moved away from the design that the controller has had since the PS1.
thats about the best design they could have while keeping their little tv thing.
the only thing they changed from the original dualshock design besides the tv is changing the sticks

the dpad looks superior. the start and select buttons are in better positions. the sticks provide better grip
