Sure lol.

xenophobia is fear of another culture and country foreign to your own. Racism is hatred of another race. Bigotry is the belief that your own opinions (on god, for instance) are always correct; this applies to hating Muslims.

Or it could be that he doesn't want his own voice to be drowned out even further than it already is by allowing another large country into the union with vastly different beliefs from his own. It's what massive central government types never understand, people want to be heard no matter how absurd you might find their opinions to be. Of course, massive central government types all want and plan to be on the inside looking out, so they don't give a fuck. They just want the power.

Of course. And nobody is saying the EU is a massive central government. Actually, there's a massive debate as to whether it should move towards a supranational state model (massive government), or remain an inter-state cooperative body.

It's even less centralized than 50 states being in a union at present. The point is, you build a bridge, and hope you have a reason to speak to each other apart from when shit goes wrong or you want to trade resources.

It's to prevent the petty conflict that you seem to love ever so much. To prevent wars between states by making them part of larger community. That community has grown in importance, sure, but let's not get crazy and start calling it a supranational state. There are entire discourses on whether that should happen, but nobody is saying it has.

They already have an unelected supranational government passing laws and regulations governing the entire union. They have a central bank. All that's really left is fiscal union and military integration.

You're right, it's not the Euro's problem. It's the fact that the governments that adopted it did not take into account and plan for what it meant to have a single unified currency. They carried on as they always had, even though the reset button of devaluation had been taken away from them. You can't live the good life with sky-high socialism induced cost of living issues when you're sharing a currency with a massive exporter such as Germany. It just doesn't work. I just don't see the system working out long term unless the countries included under the currencies' umbrella make radical changes and step away from the wealth transfer systems that are acting as an anchor on their competitiveness.

[And to explain why wealth transfer systems are bad in this case, it's because they jack up prices across the board. When more people have money, prices will rise. When prices rise, people will demand higher transfers to offset it, and it becomes an upward spiral. If the transfers stopped, and people got by with what wages they could get, there would be an initial heavy shock, but prices would drop to compensate for the new lower wage shelf. In the end, the country would end up being competitive in the export market, but have lowered access to imports. Because so many people are dependent on government jobs, or government handouts in southern European nations (and France), cost of living is astronomical compared to where it should be because they've been able to vote themselves largesse out of the treasury for so long, thus making themselves uncompetitive.]

I was responding to Pochsy.

Why would I give a crap what European technocrats look like? It's also not at all relevant. I couldn't pick Harry Reid or John Boehner or Eric Cantor or Tim Geithner out of a crowd either. So what?

Because if you are going to comment on the European Union and its role and purpose and what is good for it and Europe you should know who these crucial people are and what they did. Like I said before you don't know what you are talking about.

It not just a face matching game. The first guy is the President of European Union. The second and third are the British and Spainish council representatives and the last one is the President during the implementation of the Euro.

This is like you commenting on Russia-U.S. relations and not being able to face match or name the President and Prime minister of Russia. Or U.S.-Chinese trade and not being able to name the Premier of China.

Just stop talking about shit you know anything about. Your opinions are LITERALLY ignorant.

Maybe because some said it simply enough for you to understand, with all the proper slides pre-made. Too good for youtube now? Shit guys, Jay really is elite.

I know I can't argue against it, so just ignore it. Excellent strategy.

So what's the introduction to psychology book say on that? Does that make you an introvert or an extrovert?

What does any of that have to do with what I was talking about? Do I have to know what someone looks like before I can read their work? Do I have to know what their name is before I can comment on policy they've enacted? What kind of stupid argument is that? What a person's name is and what they look like is just about the most trivial thing imaginable. Do I have to know the names of every single Fed governor before I can criticize Fed policy too? Seriously, you were grasping at straws and now you're just looking dumber with every post.

Just admit you know absolutely nothing about economics and move on. There was no reason for you to respond at all. I'll stick to economics and you can stick to playing face matching games.

If you don't know who the president of the organization you are hell bent on arguing down then you probably shouldn't be talking about it. Don't tell me you know more about the guy's policy then you know who he is.

Like I said you know nothing about the EU or EU politics but you think the whole thing will end in revolution and war.
