No you cannot discriminate visa applications based on the country they're from, but greencard lottery is a different issue where a specific amount is given to a specific region. Students from China make up the largest international student population in the US. If you apply to a school and accept you, you will get a valid student visa to study in the US. This isn't 1900s with Ellis and Angel island stopping the yellow peril anymore.Jay wrote:

With the H1B visa it's 60k slots per year for the world. However the US does have FTA's with some countries (like oz) that gives out 10k working visa's per year to a specific country (E-3 visa for aussieland).
