Not really. Do you think everyone you meet has good intentions, or gives a fuck about anything but themselves. I mean shit, you think it should be cool to kill dogs just cause you keep it in your home. Thats pretty fucked up to me.

You are the one saying its the end of the world. It's one year for one douche bag, not the end of days.

If you 'own' an animal that doesn't give the right to treat it any way you like.
There's plenty of law in place around that to circumscribe the psychopaths who live amongst us so give it up FFS.

Cool story FEOS. My point isn't about legal systems. It is about the arbitrariness of defining which animals are worth putting people in prison for.
People get put in prison or pay crippling fines for improperly killing animals whose sole purpose is to be killed for food. Nothing arbitrary about it.

To say your argument is invalid is doing disservice to the word.

If you don't think animals are property then people shouldn't be allowed to buy and sell them. If you want to be able to buy and sell animals you have to recognize the rights of the owners of the property over their possession.

The fees for my dogs cover the spay/neuter and shots at the shelter. I don't agree with puppy mills as a matter of fact. But if someone is going to breed animals, they need to be able to raise/feed the dogs, and will need to make a living doing it, if it is done properly. So yeah, they do have to charge for adopting them.

Nope.

We can allow people to buy and sell animals while at the same time preventing psychopaths and perverts acting out their sick fantasies through animal cruelty.

Actually, they probably would.

They certainly get all in a dither when cows and other animals are treated "inhumanely" before slaughter or slaughtered in a manner not consistent with the law.

Taking someones property off of them is illegal and wrong. That is a violation of a human being's rights.

Destroying your own property like a dog isn't wrong. It is your property. You aren't violating another human's rights.

You're talking to the sociopath that wanted to stomp on kittens' heads for fun. I say we let him kill all the animals he wants so he doesn't accelerate the switch to human serial killer mode.

Oh I know he's sociopath. I still found it funny that a guy who brags about setting kids up on drug charges and get them kicked out of school, finds it to be so unjust when a guy actually does something wrong gets punished. Funny that his actions could have the same effect on a couple innocents and he is put out about the guilty guy getting punished.

This man will always have the stigma of a jail sentence over his head. Lower employment potential. Lower community acceptance. Lower income. etc. But it is okay because people are bitter enough to value dogs over the lives of human beings.

Women gets a life sentence for forcing a 13 year old to touch her breast and pressuring him for sex which they didn't have. It is a mandatory sentence and the state offered no plea deal.

would have gotten a lesser sentence for murdering the boy

Even the judge thinks the sentence, lack of plea option, and charges brought against her are wrong but he has to give it to her anyway because of mandatory sentencing guidelines.

Oh an even better one. A mother is found guilty of manslaughter because a drunk driver killed her child while they were crossing the street. The court argued that she should have used to cross walk to cross instead of jaywalking. The crosswalk was a 15 minute walk from the bus stop that was directly across from her apartment building.

Where is the national debate about how our criminal justice system devours people? People are threatening to start a war over the government regulating their guns but they are perfectly fine with it ruining lives through the courts. If there ever was something to commit terrorism or start a war over it is this, not guns. But of course since this doesn't affect mainstream America no one will care. Fucking hate this country sometimes.

Our country is rotting from the inside out
The Census Bureau predicts the U.S. population will grow by 12.5 million over the coming four years. That will place increased demands on the government, requiring many agencies to boost staffing to avoid a performance downgrade, Lilly said.

The FBI, for example, will need more crime fighters, and the IRS will need more tax examiners. Increased highway traffic will degrade roads more quickly, and increased air traffic will require more air traffic controllers.

The Bureau of Prisons will face greater costs as it expects the federal inmate population to rise 8 percent in the next four years, while the Veterans Administration will see mounting health-care costs with an aging veterans population.

If we don't want to pay for so many veterans, we shouldn't send so many troops off to ten-year fiddle-fart wars.
