If I have to hear about the liberal media one more time I will throw up.

You want proof?  I've lived in 4 big cities, and around 7 smaller to average cities.  NOT ONCE have I ever seen a right wing local newspaper.  Everywhere I look I see liberal local newspapers.  So who's getting misrepresented by media?  gg

There apparently is a Liberal bias according to Tim Groseclose, a UCLA political scientist:

Tim Groseclose wrote:

Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.

Only Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times scored right of the average U.S. voter.

The researchers funded the study with their own money so they couldn't say they were influenced by any left or right leaning organization.

Need I also site the large precentage of reporters who voted for Obama in the last election?  There's a bias in the media whether you believe it or not.

Perhaps if you listened to Rush Limbaugh you would have known that :-P

You guys should stop listening to people says candidates have no chance when Blumenthal leads McMahon by just 3 percentage points, erasing the 41-point lead he held in January.  Yep Linda McMahon came back from a 41-point deficit.  So often the media will write off candidates and they seem to know little to nothing what the electorate will do.

But we'll see what happens on Election day if she'll pull it off.

Also I'm surprised you guys who hate the Tea Party haven't mentioned the Tea Party coloring book for Kids yet?

I wonder who were behind the people upset with the coloring book.  The company also has an Obama coloring book, so I don't see what the big deal is.

This reminds me of the Obama Chia pet fiasco when people though it was somehow racist or something...

Was it Connecticut or Vermont that had 13% of their electorate who wanted to succeed from the Union?

Vermont...  secede...

Vermont is just a weird state overall, but they have the best education system in the whole country.

According to this old 2006-2007 ranking Connecticut is ranked 3rd behind Massachusetts and Vermont.  But yeah its definitely up there.

California is ranked 47 ... no surprise with all our illegals.  Poor Arizona is ranked 50th.

Why is Vermont Weird in your opinion ?

I would like to see the source on that one. 90% of the people live in one county - Chittenden. The others are very sparsely populated at best. I don't think you would find that applies to the state as a whole.

Vermont has a long history of being very different from the states around them.  They were even briefly their own country (sort of like Texas and California).  In some ways, it seems like Vermont has more of a Canadian mentality than an American one.  Take, for example, Bernie Sanders.

Only in Vermont would you be able to run under the socialist banner and actually win a Senate seat.  That being said, Sanders is kind of cool.

Well, Harmor's link above is one of many that seems to confirm this.  I've read multiple studies of America's education systems, and Vermont consistently ranks at or near the top.

Well, I've never lived in Vermont, but it seems pretty obvious that they are much more liberal than most of the rest of the country.  It doesn't seem like a stretch to assume he won as a socialist outright, because he was in the House for a while before that.

Sanders won the House seat from Pete Smith.  He was Vermont's sole Representative from 1991 to 2007.  He then went on to win the Senate seat with 65% of the vote.  I don't know about you, Hunter, but that's a pretty high percentage to win by.  Richard Tarrant got only 32%.

So no...  I'm pretty sure Vermont likes Sanders.  I suppose it is possible that they instead just hate the GOP candidates that much though.

Jeffords left shortly after switching from being a Republican to being independent.

Leahy is the secondmost senior Senator and has held his current seat since 1975.

I'm not familiar with the Abanaki Indian revolt.
