another novel way of saying nothing, congrats
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough."

Fucking hell, talk about too close for comfort.
Make X-meds a full member, for the sake of 15 year old anal gangbang porn watchers everywhere!
It's almost the inverse of our deficit spending. Deficit spending took off during Reagan and worker earnings plummeted. The chart actually surprised me. All I remember from the 80s is yuppies making a fortune on Wall Street.

Here's our feel good story for the evening.
Photo of Officer Giving Boots to Barefoot Man Warms Hearts OnlineOn a cold November night in Times Square, Officer Lawrence Deprimo was working a counterterrorism post when he encountered an older, barefooted homeless man. The officer disappeared for a moment, then returned with a new pair of boots, and knelt to help the man put them on.
The act of kindness would have gone unnoticed and mostly forgotten, had it not been for a tourist from Arizona.
Officer Lawrence Deprimo bought new boots for a homeless man he encountered in Times Square.
There are no good people amirite?

The family's upset because they say there were no warnings such a thing could happen when they paid $7.00-a-person to feed the dolphins, nor did they feel the incident was treated with a sense of urgency.

The Republicans should call Obama's bluff and offer to raise tax rates to a high enough level to balance the budget next year along with a rule to balance the budget every year going forward. There would be a revolt if people were actually asked to bear the real cost of the government and its spending practices. Do that, and you'll get real talks about budget cuts from the Democrats.

Needs a bit more than balancing at the moment though doesn't it?
But yeah, both ways you look at it, it's going to hurt.

Oh, it needs serious cuts. My point is that if the American public actually felt the spending that is being racked up by the government they would vote everyone out of office. That would be the easiest way for Republicans to actually get the spending cuts they want, and would force a serious re-think about government spending in general.PrivateVendetta wrote:

Ideally, changes in tax rates would be taken out of the hands of the politicians and given to an independent arbiter, perhaps the CBO, to determine what rate will be needed to balance the budget for the following year based on spending rates. If people constantly see their tax rates going up, they will ask serious questions and raise a stink.

Scenario 1: The family wants an apology from the zoo (or whatever that was) and the media raises awareness about feeding animals like this and this place loses money due to the bad publicity.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

The zoo, girl, and world learn from this and continue, and all better for the experience.
Scenario 2: The family sues for eleventeen million dollars (and wins obviously, this is Merica after all), the zoo gets fucked over and has to close the exhibit, and future families can't do this activity.
The shitty family lives a rich lifestyle having done nothing to deserve it and are a bunch of shitt-opportunity-seeking, fuck-heads who see a chance at undeserved money and take it. The zoo loses and exhibit. Future families are also fucked over.
Guess which one is going to happen.
<--jack's complete lack of surprise.
