I think most of them are at least $100 but they all seem to be well-made from what people are saying
I think that Noctua S12B fan I bought has settled in a bit better now and it's REALLY quiet even under load. Now that I've switched back to my Windows 7 Western Digital Black Edition, I can hear lots of hard drive noise again though, it feels like I'm back in Elementary school in the late 90s/early 2000s when all the hard drives in the media center were noisy. I can't imagine having a VelociRaptor in terms of noise but I'll bet the speed is worth it.
Either way, I definitely recommend the Noctua S12B as a replacement case fan, it'll make fan noise the least of your noise problems and it cools very well too. From now on, I'm putting these Noctuas in every applicable thing I own. Some people actually buy the smaller 60 and 40mm fans to replace noisy ones in their audio receivers

I've been impressed with most of Noctua's stuff in general. I'd be more impressed if they didn't dump chocolate milkshake into their plastic dye.
I always wondered why my mouth waters a little bit whenever I see it in my case when I open it to play with hard drive configurations. It really does look like it's made out of chocolate and its frame is made out of some kind of creamy coffee mixture, lol.
I wonder if they'll ever decide to make some fans with proprietary pin-outs like a lot of Dell's 5-pin fans. My Dell GX280 had one of the worst fans ever, it was always terribly noisy and I don't think it actually did a very good job keeping things cool either. Cooling a 3.2GHz Prescott/Cedar Mill is still no excuse, I've seen other computers cool those much more efficiently and quietly than that one did

Now that I have the money I am upgrading my rig to what I want.
My current build progress:
GFX choice may change if they turn out to be crap (which I highly doubt). Also few Corsair fans and maybe sleeving kit for the AX1200i.

Today I decided to install the eSATA bracket that my motherboard came with, I rediscovered it in its sealed bag when I was looking for other shit in my computer accessories box in the closet. It has two eSATA outs and a molex out and also came packaged with a shielded molex-SATA power converter cable and an eSATA-SATA data cable. Now I can backup people's hard drives when I reformat their computers without having to take my computer apart, I should've installed that kit a long time ago
Also found my old Jabra bluetooth headset lol

Does it come with a copy of Train Simulator?
I'm about to buy a new TV. At the moment my options are these two:
Sony 55" 3D LED Smart-TV KDL-55HX855
LG 55" 3D LED Smart-TV 55LM760T
LG comes with a passive 3D and Sony with active 3D. Anyone tried both and have pros/cons about the technologies? Store dude said that passive could be easier to watch since it's not flashing.

How much 3D do you plan to be watching? It's not terribly huge for in-home right now so can you wait until it's the standard? Prices will be lower and tech will be that much better.
Question of my own!:
Does anybody know of a good washable keyboard? Or one that is waterproof? (+ mouse)
I have a user that works in a lab and will be doing dissections and will need to enter data at the same time so she'll be getting all sorts of animal parts and fluids on both the keyboard and mouse. It needs to be easily cleanable and okay to get all sorts of crap on it.

for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.

I'm not planning on watching 3D that much. Just trying to figure out which one would be a better buy. Some movies and probably some PS3 games if I find something interesting. I'm gonna buy a new telly after xmas when the sales start since the bedroom TV turned itself into a 32" radio some time ago Damn thing shows a picture for 2 seconds after you turn it on and then just sound. Gonna move the livingroom TV to the bedroom and getting the new one to the livingroom.

The Sony is on sale until xmas tho. Plus it comes with a bluray player and all the Bond movies on bluray
Could always sell the player for some € and win that way. Need to go comparing again. Buuut if anyone has good insight on the 3D thing, I'll be happy to hear it

That's nice and all, but the layout is kind of fucked.
I got a delivery confirmation email that included a photograph of the delivery

Also, any reason for the keyboard choice? Is it gonna be used publicly?

newzbin2 is dead. This makes me a sad panda
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Try both TVs and figure out what one you like. The tech is good/fast enough that your eyes shouldnt be able to perceive any flashing whatsoever.
It makes it easy to clean off jizz, apparently.FFLink wrote:

@Winston. Ye, I'm gonna go compare them probably today after work. I kinda hope the Sony has better picture quality so I can save 100€ (LG is 1999€ & Sony 1888€) + get a bluray device which I can sell for a few €'s. AND ofcourse get a pile of James Bond
Was this directed at my question about washable keyboards?FFLink wrote:

If it was, it will be used privately but in a lab where all kinds of animal guts will be getting on it and it will need to be washed often.
Not UPS, smaller company. I guess they took a picture as proof they delivered the package.Ultrafunkula wrote:
