Just out of curiosity, does anybody else get those 'suggested wall posts' on facebook that are some company using targeted advertising? I had one up this morning from a store I had been to 2 days ago for the first time in my life where I made a small purchase with my credit card. So if I'm to understand this correctly, the store took the name off my credit card, gave it to facebook, and facebook sends me a target ad on behalf of the company. That means that my credit card information (not the number, but the name I use on the credit card), has effectively been sold/bartered depending on the arrangement between the two corporations, so that my data can be sold to similar companies in some form of extremely lazy market research.
I'm sure it's legal, it just seems fucked up.

So I woke up this morning around 6:30, heard my dad going out to work. Next thing I hear is a huge bang, go and have a look, and see an XKR up against the power pole on the other side of the street and the wire down. Dad calls up the police/fire/ambulance and whatnot and comes back to tell us. Apparently it came around the bend while he was scraping the car, wiped out in a 180 and hit the pole with a big ol' firework display. Driver was clearly doped and to make matters worse for him, was his parents car and he has no insurance. Judging by what I saw when they hauled it away, the rear axle was pretty buggered. Took out the power for about five hours. Had two traffic cars, one panda, one small van and one riot van turn up along with two engines and an ambulance. Half the street was out in their pyjamas having a look
