I havent read them, but my roommate said it was very different in the comics. So, in this case, its entirely the writers.Kampframmer wrote:
But there's no arguing over this, characters in shows do dumb things (blame the writers, or in this case, the comic) and at least we got rid of Lori.
When the series first started I read ahead in Wikipedia about the comics but they have so severely departed from the comic storyline that it's only loosely based upon the comics now. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, though - I think it's actually better and just because it works in a book doesn't mean it works in a TV show/movie (just look at Harry Potter).
Pretty sure Rick looked at him and figured out that Carl shot his mother. That is why he said No no NO no NO NO. I thought that was a pretty realistic reaction. It wasnt one of those classic TV reactions.Kampframmer wrote:
Yes, Rick's crying was very weird. The way he bent over looking at carl as if he wanted to ask: 'Did you know about this?' and then just yelling: 'No, no, NO, no, NO NO'. It was odd and it killed some of the emotional immersion.

It was different, it didn't come across as clichéd drama, but was it better? Well, I've never seen a grown man break down after he realized his son shot his wife after giving birth to a baby in a zombie apocalypse. However, I do know that it wasn't exactly the way most men would break down and cry. He went for a different approach than the usual sob, and that is to be respected, but it wasn't a brilliant performance and made for quite an awkward scene.
There was this quiet moment, a low sobbing from Maggie, Rick looks like he's breaking down mentally, but suddenly he bursts out into 'No's' and crying in all that silence. It broke the moment a little imo.
RIP T-Dogg
As for lori, couldn't be any happier.

said it before, killing off the characters pretty quickly
when shows do something i dont expect
I've noticed something. Before Dale died, he was the only one arguing in favor of Randall. Now, T Dogg was the only one in favor of letting the prisoners join the group, then he got dead. Probably a coincidence, but I feel we must acknowledge another possibility. Anyone who opposes the will of the Ricktatorship dies!

Ricktatorship. Love it.
Well it didn't seem like you understood it from your last post, bunny-hat wearing, recorder-playing man. I was just trying to help you out, sherlock.Kampframmer wrote:

Don't worry, I also got that.
Well your guys' reactions are not at all the same as all the forums and those of reddit that I've read. I think Rick's crying was good, i mean, how the hell would you portray it?
Anyway, T-Dog and Lori are gone. I'm not happy about the baby, it's going to be an annoying part of the story for a while I think. If they kill of Daryl or Glenn I would be so pissed off.

I watched another episode this week. I've seen two episodes and this show still looks like absolute shit to me. Only redeeming part was the zombie gladiator kumate match at the end. How do you guys stick around and watch this show every week? It's slow as fuck and it seems like the writers purposely leave the audience in the dark. It kind of reminds me of lost - lets be vague as possible to create a mysterious aura about the characters and plot, and so we can throw in curveballs at any time without having the audience question us too much. That's the impression I get after seeing two episodes and bits and pieces here and there.
In other news, I think I essentially disregard anything Poseidon recommends as his and my tastes in movies/tv rarely seem to mesh.

In her defense, it's a good indication of whether a guy might or might not be crazy. Andrea's attracted to him? Good chance. Andrea's fucking him? Dude's off his rocker.ROGUEDD wrote:
