obama's not bush, but you have to look hard to find any real differences (obama's penis is big enough to not have to invade a country. yet.)

congress cuts taxes, and anything else money related. supreme court rescinds or upholds law. executive branch enforces law. BFD, i pay more attention to who runs for dog catcher.

Yeah I wonder this too. It's not like he can make all these decisions and everyone in their party just goes along with it. We only have to look to how Australia's former PM was replaced by our current one for a recent example.

The end of the day the person they put up is a figurehead for the powerbrokers that run the party agenda.

that one is dumb on both sides. i heard most of PBS' funding isn't from the government. so it probably wouldn't die if they cut funding. and at the same time, cutting funding for PBS to balance the budget is like deleting some word docs from your 99% full 500GB hard drive instead of deleting your porn

They do telethons and shit to bring in money. Dunno why people are up in arms about this shit, have them run commercials like every other channel. I don't hear people bitching that disney or abc family run ads. Or, if they're so adamantly opposed to commercials, have them do what every other cable channel has been doing lately and extort a monthly fee from the cable companies.

The telethons are for the local stations I think. PBS is the national distributor, a non profit corporation. Not a government bureaucracy.

It's a well known fact advertising has an influence on content. Have you seen the garbage on the other channels in a while? It is cheap adhd bullshit with super sweet choco sugar bombs in between. You are delusional if you think PBS would not be bastardized by "free market" exploitation.
