I can't believe Rodriguez and Pujols got those contracts. Not to try to blame everything on one factor, but if you look at the similarities between teams and reasons for success/lack thereof, those two fat contracts to aging superstars stand out.
Obviously too early to say what the overall end result will be, but A-Rod's declined significantly, and Pujols lower body will give out to injury loooong before that contract nears its end.
