It's not just about who is president, there are seats etc. to be elected.
It's not like those variables stop at the state borders, though...Cybargs wrote:

MDB. That's all I'm gonna say.

The EPA is supposed to set minimum standards for states to follow and serve as a vehicle for states to settle disputes i.e. downstream states being able to sue upstream states for negligence etc. The problem is that the EPA has instead turned into a vehicle for idealists to force their morals on everyone else. I don't care if you agree with what they believe in or not, appointed members of the bureaucracy should not be able to enact rules and laws, that's Congress' job, and is why the Republicans voted to destroy it.Cybargs wrote:

I'm not familiar with companies bullying states. Do you have examples?Macbeth wrote:

Government:\
lobbying? Threatening to move unless business-friendly laws or relaxed regulations/taxes or subsidies are given? Maybe bullying is the wrong term but are you playing dumb for the sake of argument?FEOS wrote:

A large enough company moving out-of-state can be bad for said state. But it can go two ways.
HP wanted to move into Pierce County (I believe it was) in western Washington, but were harassed by so many terms, conditions, regulations and money-grubbing by authorities that they changed their mind.

Lobbying = influence. Bullying = threatening.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Bullying IS the wrong term. Influence is a valid argument, but not the one that was made. I'm assuming he knows the difference and chose "bullying" for a reason. I honestly can't think of an instance where a company has bullied a state to get their way--hence my question. Bribery, on the other hand...
There's likely more "bullying" on the part of government toward business than the other way around, via new laws with short implementation timelines aimed at specific businesses/industries.

GLENN BECK: DIVINE INTERVENTION WILL BE SEEN WHEN ROMNEY WINS WHITE HOUSE
Looking forward to seeing his face crumble.

Huh, I remember when "only God can save this campaign now" wasn't a positive thing to say about your candidate.

Some people are just so pathetic that when they see how fucked Romney is, all they can do is smile and say "God will make everything right"
I think you're all far too dismissive of the power Romney wields within his magical underwear.
Pretty sure its the underwear which wields the power.
Fuck Israel
You would have to be a brain dead idiot to vote for Obammy.

He's over 18. From what I understand he also doesn't have a job, doesn't have a high school degree and still lives at home with his parents. A real go getter entrepeneur, right in line with the Repub voter base.
