Erm, ultramon for more than 1 monitor. Wallbase.net for decent wallpapers. After that you dont really need anything. Win 7 turned the task bar into the dock

I've never found uses for these things. I never see my background, except for the rare occasion I restart or have to turn my PC on. Even then, it's for a few seconds.
