I need to complete my schooling as I started slacking in 2005 and I have paid the price for that.
My parents aren't supportive of me joining the military as a grunt, especially because Obama is the President. Being homeschooled, you essentially need your parents' support. In order to make what would be my home school diploma count as a high school diploma instead of a GED(making it easier for me to make it), I need to take a parental supervised test and a couple other things.
Cuts in defense spending doesn't exactly make it easier to get into the military, one of my reasons for voting for Romney among other reasons is he'll increase defense spending.

Romney will fight for allowing us to drill oil and natural gas on our own soil on areas we currently are not allowed to. Making us closer to energy independence. Also creating more jobs in the process that way.
Romney will not fucking sue states for things such as tougher illegal immigration enforcement.
Romney will help make it easier on business owners, allowing them to create more jobs.
Romney will decrease tax tates.
Romney is successful businessman that has helped turn things around in things he managed.
I could go on and on, but that should be clear enough to show that there is a fricken difference. Romney isn't perfect, but then again, no one is.

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Romney can also export jobs to India and Mexico.

George Bush was great for America, so why wouldn't Romney be too?
At least the inevitable Bushisms were entertaining to anticipate.
The wars and the lies weren't exactly funny though.
Fuck Israel
Seeing as that is your best example at independent thought - because you've used it about five times now in as many threads - you should probably go take a long walk off a short pier.War Man wrote:

1) Defense spending has spiked, and maintained higher levels under Obama as a percentage of GDP than under any president since FDR, including Bush and Reagan.
2) Domestic crude oil production has also spiked under Obama.

3) More illegals have been deported under Obama than under any other US president in history.
4) Ok. By doing what?
5) Taxes are already not high enough to support current spending levels.
6) Ok.
Obama is Bush is Romney.

Romney's company frequently buys up prospering companies, gains majority shareholder, guts them and then steals their profits.
Romney is going to decrease tax rates for the rich (not the middle class, and most certainly not for the poor.)
Romney is a successful businessman because Romney is a ruthless busninessman.
He is against gay marriage (like it or not, you shouldn't judge others on how they live their lives.)
Romney cost my state thousands of jobs when he was governor.

edit: that's not necessarily a good thing, but i think just writing it off as "he's a black dem president who's good at pr" doesn't quite cut it at the diplomatic level

There is an inherent hostility towards the Republican Party in the international media. Any Democratic president will automatically be viewed more positively.

You act like an "inherent hostility" is just a default-bias, although in reality what you don't realise is that international media view your own domestic politics as a bit of a circus act. All of the television stunts and histrionics and petty debates and internecine squabbles over nothing. There's hardly an international conspiracy to 'discredit' the Republican party. Honestly, I don't think people outside of your shores really care all that much between the two: they are two minor variations on the same Yankee theme to us. If there is any "inherent hostility" against Republicans, it is only because the only big impact they have had on the outside world in recent memory is Neocon unilateralism. Bush hardly being the best PR man himself to assuage international concerns over this disastrous foreign policy. That has hit your international reputation and standing, not any political or doctrinal disagreement with the Republican party (though I'm sure many non-US citizens do have plenty of those, too).
Also, you have to bear in mind we are much more comfortable with a mainstream liberal press and intelligentsia over here in Europe (liberal in the true sense, not the bastardized pejorative you Americans have made it into). So when we see a party trying to gain a voting foothold based on anti-abortion, anti-gay-marriage, intelligent design, etc. - any of these red herrings that come up in non-news about the political race - we naturally recoil in horror. The same with free-market economics and the worship of 'big business'; it's not a dislike of the Republican party qua political organisation, it's a gut-level reaction against policies and news-snippets that shock the most basic, fundamental liberal tendency which we take as a given here in Europe.

I think it's a bit of ego as well. You're much more likely to hear an American liberal say something like 'they do this in Europe, we should do it too'. They're much more likely to look outside the country for ideas whereas Republicans are more likely to look back at the nations past and pull ideas from there. How many times have you read on this very forum a foreigner commenting on American politics and policies and saying 'you guys are dumb, we do x here and it's great'. They'll naturally get a better reaction from someone that calls them self a liberal, so it's natural to look more favorably on the person that appears to be willing to listen.aynrandroolz wrote:

That said, I don't view that as classical liberalism. It's as mindless and closed minded to only be willing to look outside as it is to look within for ideas. American liberals just seem to have an overwhelming desire to fit in and conform to what's 'normal' in the rest of the world. There's nothing brave or intellectual about that, but there is bravery in standing up and saying 'fuck you, we like how we are'... except the people most likely to say that are the moral crusaders who don't actually like the country and want to change it into their own moralist utopia... It's a loss whichever way you turn honestly.

The computerized adaptive test is easier, if you know the material.
It'll just give you a short few successively harder questions, rather than having to daze out answering a million dumb easy questions.
Took the paper "scantron" ASVAB probably a dozen times from 1992-1993, as part of a test group for new version(s) of the test.
I dunno, but apparently that's a high enough score to be a corpsman. Lord knows I wouldn't wanna depend on him to save my life.
