Obama is probably the closest thing to an average citizen there will ever be. Are exceptions to the rule the standard now?
Is Paul Ryan an aristocrat?

Based on net worth, yes, he's in the upper 10 percent.

Do you really believe the super rich don't control our government? I don't want to get all preachy here but I don't see how anyone could possibly think otherwise.
I'm not denying that people need to be independently wealthy to enter politics for the most part. I'm just saying that the people you define as rich are not some static group of inbreds like England. 2/3 of billionaires are self made men, not born into it.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

You're the one that brought up aristocracy buddy.
The Iraq war was 9 years ago. Bush left office 4. Are people ever going to stop bitching about Iraq and the U.S. foreign policy? It is so tiresome talking to Europeans who are still wrapped up in that.

Nothing stopping the average person from entering a race. Lack of money stops them from being elected, for the most part.Jay wrote:

You guys can pretend there isn't a serious money barrier, but that's just you playing make believe.
last time I checked the US was still in Iraq and Afghanistan, plus taking action in Syria and Libya. Bush may be gone but Obama hasn't done much to change the status quo regarding foreign policy.Macbeth wrote:

If your ideas are popular enough the money will find you. The biggest barrier to entry is simply being accepted by the party machine. Many years spent inside the machine before you're even considered.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

You mean if your ideas are what monied interests want, then the monied interests will donate money. The party machine has more influence federally, but even then it's concentrated to the top few positions (speaker, pres, VP).
Ron Paul had popular opinions (opinions the general public agreed with). Where was his money?

He had plenty. He was just marginalized by the media. Telling people its a waste to vote for someone because they cant win is death to a campaign.

Media represents monied interests, agree or disagree?

Bunch of racist nut jobs.
I got a good chuckle out of "9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal." though.
And the laughs keep on coming:

" The Global Communists are preparing to make 'Obama the Fraud President' their world leader based upon a fraudulent interpretation of Article 2, Section1 of the United States Constitution. "
The true conservatives of the GOP now have to contend with this stupidity.

I'm surprised they don't have anything anti-gay on their website either. Oh, wait. That's the "traditional family values" I'll bet.
I wonder how the business wing of the GOP feels about illegals.
16. Gay people are gay

Read their section on Obama and you get insane idiotic ramblings such as this one:

im sure they are hypocritical about it as much as any other politician.Macbeth wrote:

Gays are bad - except when I'm touching little boys and engaging in clandestine sex romps with a rent boy
Down with illegals - except for the ones working in my factory
Down with kowtowing to lobbyists - did I mention my fundraiser next week? $10K a plate, RVSP today!
Down with bailouts and stimulus - but please give stimulus money to my constituents, companies and donors
This just in - Politicians say one thing and do another and don't really give a fuck about anything but money and power.
The more I think about that platform the more I want to hurl in my mouth. There are so many contradictions it's not even funny.
