EA wants everything to be ftp apparently
Not sure if all my alarm bells are going off yet, but if they kill single player and fmv cutscenes entirely, FUCK YOU EA.neojames82 wrote:
So forcing Origin, EA's shitty reputation for F2P games and pretty much killing single-player campaigns, yeah, fuck you EA, seriously, FUCK YOU.
At the same time, I'm now expecting Tribes 4-style "you gotta buy your gear now" bullshit.
Free to Play is really the way to go. Rather than spending x3 + DLC on games for my two sons and myself, we can pick and choose what early upgrades we want.
Blacklight Retribution does it right. My sons can just grind for most things, but I allow them to purchase a few faves they like. And since I can't grind as much, I can purchase the best gear I like early on. In the end, much cheaper than paying the typical $180 entrance fee for three full games.

If done right. I don't like getting games only to find out that I have to keep waiting to buy pieces of the puzzle to make the damn things complete. That kind of model put onto an RTS just seems disingenuous. Want that special tank or unit that should've been in the game proper? $5!
Has anybody bought Sleeping Dogs yet? It's out on Steam
Woo, CS:GO in 19 hours. Here's to hoping for a well balanced fps with better graphics.

Ubisoft has endured a 93 to 95 per cent piracy rate on PC.
That's what happens when you slap DRM on everything. How stupid can they be.
props to the pc piracy sceneTrotskygrad wrote:

if the games suck so bad, why do so many people pirate them? Or are the games good, save for the DRM?
Games probably aren't that bad. I think it's a combination of things. 1, people pirating out of spite. 2, legitimate customers pirating so they can actually play without an internet connection. 3, Ubisoft being dumb as usual and not counting piracy rates in a proper useful meaningful manner. Tl;Dr: continue ignoring Ubisoft.

Standard for all games? There's some good games out there. Not many, but some. Diablo 3 is still fun for me. I'm having fun playing darksiders 2. Tribes is some mindless fun. Got back into playing civ 5 a bit tooMiggle wrote:

I want to know about CSGO too. Been a while since I played FPS, and Planetside 2 is still far off. Never played CS before. I'm not a leet pro ADHD tard.
i dunno, loved cs when it first came out up to the source version ...FatherTed wrote:

its great this plays like that, but i feels like a 10 year old game.
I bought it, not the Source we know but good job nonetheless.
Clearly made for consoles.

Ok so first taste of CS:GO today. It's late and I'm too untalented to write a proper review. The game is fantastic though. From what I can tell they really polished up the rough edges of CSS. GOOD HITBOXES OMFG!!! Seriously though when you shoot someone walking sideways in the head they actually die. It's great.
The graphics are obviously not the highest caliber, but none-the-less refreshing. the new weapons are pretty cool, and oh yeah EVERY GUN IS USABLE! Each weapon has it's own niche now. Which is nice so now there isn't just awp, scout, ck, m4, p90. I am REALLY loving this game so far. If no one's done it by this weekend I'll throw up a full review thread.

A lot of Ubisoft games are fun. Unfortunately, their draconian DRM makes almost every release a pain in the ass for their legit PC customers while pirates don't have to deal with it at all. I think I had to sign in like three times and enter a code twice just to play that one god game where you adjust land for a bunch of tribals. I don't even remember what it's called anymore, but all pirates had to do was start the program and play the game.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I think the reason their piracy rate is so high is because
1) pirates.
2) they drive their legit customers into piracy.
3) they drive their legit customers away from their games. period.
