They never did. They threatened to revoke Ecuador's diplomatic immunity to arrest Assange. Ecuador made it out to be a threat to 'storm the embassy', which is baloney.

Assange is an asshole and an idiot. He mostly abused the information he got his hands on to push his anti-war/anti-US stance, released documents at random and completely distorted facts in f.ex. their self edited version of the reuters journalists being shot by an apache.

I wouldn't know what to do with him tbh. Locking him up would make him a martyr.

they don't have to storm it anyway. he steps out to get into a car -> he gets arrested. he manages to get into a car -> he gets arrested when he gets out

What happens if he hires a helicopter to take him to a waiting ship in the north sea?

The airspace above Britain is owned by the British. They can enforce no-fly zones, etc.

I doubt they would scramble the airforce, but then again I didn't think they would move into a foreign embassy.

arrested trying to get to/in it. if they really want to they could force the heli to land, then arrest him.

Yeah, I guess the pilot would lose his license. Didn't really think that one through. Too many movies

Quizzes like this are dumb. The only important part is the idea of the compass itself.
Wonderful, but where is the line truly drawn in views?
It's all relative, which is why people that are generally close to each other politically argue so often. To Republicans, Obama is damn near a communist because they believe he is to their left. To Democrats, Romney is the monopoly man with his top hat, cane, and his penchant for evicting old ladies. In reality, they're not that far apart.

For the purposes of this compass, they define the extreme right as free market economics, and the extreme left at communism. The top is where Pol Pot or Hitler would be, and the bottom is where you'd find your anarchists.

Why I say the quiz is useless is because it's incredibly difficult to pinpoint where people would really sit on it. Most people could pick a quadrant, or the middle, and say they reside there, but beyond that, again, it's all based on their view point. Both Obama and Romney would sit in the upper right quadrant about 1/3 from the center line economically, and about halfway up the authoritarian line.
I find a bar with 2 directions to be better, if you want to measure authoritarian and libertarianism, add a second bar. You can then have a 3rd bar for things like how religious or atheist a person is, or a racism bar. The two-way bar is more flexible.

Also, I disagree with how Romney and Obama were measured.

How are Romney and Obama politically different?  Based solely on actions, not on anything they have said (because politicians lie about everything).

Probably proportionate to the amount of pressure applied by the US.

It's not bumping if you reply with something relevant to the subject instead of "ur dumb lol".

MacBeth, Flaming Maniac had common sense but lacked the ability to apply real world variables to the ideals that he touted.  There is something to be said about defending and holding on to certain ideals.  However, if you cannot understand how to fit your political ideology into the world we live in, you are doing a disservice to yourself and the views you espouse.  It's kind of like morals - you have a general guideline, but you have to react differently to different situations, sometimes compromising certain ideologies to deal with unpredictable human tendencies.  Of course flaming maniac wouldn't see that, because he saw a compromise of ideology and morals as the attributes of a lesser man - which is stupid.

And hearing someone argue about tax rates when they don't pay taxes is funny too.
