With patch 1.3, I was under the impression that missiles would no longer target friendly vehicles. However, with the Essex gun, I have probably lost NLT 20 team points shooting at J-10s today alone. Is it just jet missiles that got fixed?

- Missiles still track friendly vehicles
Classic, this & that will be fixed.
Release day not only do the fixes not work they create new bugs & exploits!
*raises toast to EA/Dice*
Cheers

Each patch doesn't fix glitches and makes the game worse.
At current rates, I expect version 1.8 to simply uninstall the game!

This one didn't seem to have any noticeable bugs unless you downloaded incremental or modifed your BF2.exe file.
Actually I think it is normal... they are heat-seeking missiles.
The problem was that you saw the enemy sight on friendly vehicles!!! And this has been fixed!

Friendly vehicles will no longer appear as valid targets for missile systems. The box with the X through it will still appear however the locked tone will not sound and missiles fired will not track the friendly target.
just great! what will be next? Just shooting your scraw in the air and it will automatically track enemy jets?
or a request to drop tanks?
YOU: "Requesting tank drop at this coördinate"
COMMANDER: "Roger on the tank drop, over"
*the sound of an overflying jet*
YOU: "AARGHHHH"
(you've just been killed by your requested tank)

Well there was one instance where I was tracking a j-10 fly close by, and I turned, shooting 8 essex missiles, and passed right by a blackhawk taking off. So when one hit that I can understand, as I shot it in the blackhawk's vicinity. Other times the missiles curve over and shoot a f-35 taking off. This was at the essex gun at the far end of the carrier.
You moron. Go play the game and you will see that if missile's decide not to hit the enemy they will go after something else, 90% of the time that is freindly targets. I've seen this in both single and multiplayer. Against choppers and J10's. It's basically the same...ThePunisher_ITA_ wrote:

Freindly vehicles never did fucking appear as valid ragets for missile systems. Only their flares....
LOL man... I think you haven't ever played with an aircraft... damn stupid people... before friendly jeep, etc. sometimes appeared without X and THIS was the problem.Mekstizzle wrote:

If you are so idiot to miss your enemy it is normal that a heat-seeking missile will it any other target, enemy one or not.

They are talking about missiles not bombs. I know of the bug that if a freindly troop got out of a vehicle/AA emplacement it would be highlighted as enemy (In bomb mode). They say a locked tone/missiles fired wouldn't track the freindly target. However they still miss the J10 (unless he's an idiot pilot) and go after freindlys/other targets...
