Because they can, I guess. I dunno. They did a lot of construction after I graduated so I assume some of it has to do with the debt they picked up.

The major all boys Catholic school only costs $3000/yr, but that's because they have a ridiculous endowment.

This debate is 5 pages on and we still haven't arrived at the correct conclusion that algebra is totally unnecessary in any regard? For shame, bf2s.

I know it's popular to credit Al-Khwarizmi with the invention of algebra, and you can certainly say that he set it as a branch of mathematics, but neither Islam nor any one person "invented" algebra.

$47k/yr for high school, holy balls!  I think mine (public, granted) was $40-50/yr non-compulsory in the 90s, plus a few hundy on a uniform.

I had to come to grips with functional currying today (django.utils.functional.curry), so yes algebra was useful.

High school was around $400 a year, and that was voluntary.

For one of the top 5 schools in the country.

If I consolidate a bunch of random maths into their own independent branch and give it a name, it still doesn't mean I invented them.
