Australians are more honest and upfront, and frankly less nasty about it. Its out in the open, no-one takes it too seriously.
Asians are racist too.Cybargs wrote:
It's what happens when you put a bunch of criminals and British Imperial "elites" in one country, which ends up having the "white Australia" immigration policy.
Australia is a better place to live than most asian countries, thanks to the natural resources/population ratio. That Australia won't let the whole of Asia, or anywhere else, flood in and turn it into a shit-hole like Bangladesh makes Australia a racist country apparently.

yeah basing your immigration policy on the color of your skin isn't racist at all lol. Asian countries have tough immigration for EVERYONE, no matter if you're white, black, asian, etc etc. bit different when youre creating different sets of rules basing on people's race.Dilbert_X wrote:

What is Australia's immigration policy like for people from developed asian nations like South Korea or Japan, compared to people from less developed parts of Asia?
And yeah, there are racist members of every race.

why are you guys saying such obvious things about every race having racists? makes it sound like your defending your racism. and australia is a race?

exactly the same. you have brains and money to study at uni in australia? you're free to enter. you got enough money for investment visa? come on right in. you got the skills for a working visa? good come work here.BVC wrote:

only exception is for kiwi's due to trans-tasman travel agreement instantly giving kiwi's PR in aussie and vice versa.
11B, its because many people seem to hold this "white guilt/only whites can be racist" view, which is a little fucked up. Pointing that all races have racists in an internet forum is a (small) way of doing something about it.
So if Australia's immigration policy is largely the same regardless of a would-be immigrant's home nation, it can't be regarded as racist then.

Which was 40-50 years ago, depending on which bit, so what are you griping about?

I'm bored with the asylum seeker debate but this bile needs to be vented.
So Malcolm Turnbull came out and openly said that both the Government and Opposition's asylum seeker policies were cruel and inhumane. He didn't openly condemn them, describing them as a necessary evil to fight a greater one but still it is refreshing that there is at least someone who will call a spade a spade.
The thing that really bugged me came a bit later on when Tony Abbott formally declined to include the Coalition in the Government's multi-party committee on asylum seekers. Not surprising but his alternate concept was frankly insulting. He wouldn't be a part of the committee but he'd consult with them afterwards. Of course you would you slimy prick, that way you can continue to bitch, moan and criticise without having to actually be involved in the process, put forward any ideas of your own or even think about adjusting your own stance. And this guy is the preferred Prime Minister?
But then Scott Morrison came out as he tends to do to say that the Coalition doesn't want to be a part of the committee because they think it's a tailor-made committee that aims to back the Government's policy. Well it probably is now Scott but you know what, you were invited you complete dribbling prick-a-zoid; if you wanted to put forward your own policy to debate, if you wanted to put forward your own ideas, if you wanted to change the committee's direction you fucking could have. But Scott, Tony and the Coalition didn't. And probably because they have absolutely nothing to add and refuse to make any concessions.
But with this they think they can reserve the right to come back after the work is done to be devil's advocate? Let other people do the work and then make it live or die at their whim? Are you shitting me? You're either involved or you're not in my opinion and Abbott, Morrison and the rest of them have shown that they do not want to be involved. They shy away from anything that involves, you know, governing or policy making or forming a legitimate fucking argument but they aim to become the Government. The fact that they most likely will is mind-blowing.
Another thing that came out today, (actually yesterday,) was Tony Abbott reacting to the criticism of his policy to turn back asylum seeker boats. The criticism, among other comments, was that it would put Navy lives at risk. Abbott's response was pretty much "well they're in the military right? Risk is part of their job." Yeah Tony, when risk is warranted, not just because you want to look good in the eyes of redneck constituents. It again shows this guy's unwillingness to move on anything. This turning back the boats thing has been condemned internationally, it doesn't even have the support of everyone in his own party, but he will not make any concessions. He fears eating a bit of humble pie so much that he's willing to sacrifice the safety of a few serving Australians. Just so he doesn't have to back down on one thing that he's not even willing to put to the scrutiny of a multi-party committee. What an absolute colossal unmitigated ass-brained chucklefuck this man is. Or "Preferred Prime Minister", whichever.

One well-placed Liberal source told The Australian that Abbott would rather see Labor continue to bleed politically with ongoing boat arrivals. If that means deaths at sea continue, he said, so be it. Perhaps Abbott thinks such tragedies reflect more badly on Labor than his own side because the government appears responsible for the mess courtesy of changing John Howard's asylum-seekers policies in the first place.
The guy needs a fucking bullet.
C'mon guys, Catholics can't sin remember?
I think it would be a good general principle, in any country, for the party which is beaten at the election to not be complete asshats on every possible issue.
There should be a quick committee at the start of every govt to agree the issues which they agree on and can be run through quickly, the issues which require debate, and the issues they are implacably at odds on. For the benefit of the country and such.
So in summary I think Malcolm Turnbull should be PM and everyone else should STFU until they have something intelligent to say ie until never.
Except Nick Xenophon, he's OK and I voted for him even though he's a wog.

I come from a pretty left leaning background and still am, and I never thought I'd be backing a Liberal but right now if I had to choose from anyone suitable to be PM Turnbull would get my vote.
In saying that I think only Turnbull is suitable to be PM right now
By suitable you mean least unsuitable.
