The big reddits blow. The smaller niche/hobby ones are okay.
i hate it when people describe the smaller reddits as 'niche/hobby', as if that implies the people that post there are any more educated or know any better just what-the-fuck they're talking about. the only difference between the major big reddits and the smaller ones is that there's less retards crowding up one space. but the average level of intelligence and the average reddit-community frequenter is still one dumb, meme-quoting motherfucker.

/r/fitness is exceptionally bad about groupthink hive mind.

If you are not worshipfully licking at the altar of Mark Rippetoe's nuts, and forsaking all cardio for squats - you are an infidel heathen.

r/fitness is actually one of the subreddits I can somewhat tolerate. But even then, it still takes one massive retard-filter to make it bearable.
Personally i prefer r/weightroom, but your description somewhat fits that one too. There's more SS on those two subreddits than there ever was in germany during ww2.
That's about the only subreddit's i can actually enjoy, although as per usual, most it is crap

r/depthhub makes reddit somewhat bearable even if most of the people still have no idea what they're talking about.
