What about Nomad and Psycho?

I loved those two polar opposite characters. Psycho was the trigger happy guy that was badass, and Nomad was the smart one thinking things through. Kind of the Rick vs Shane of the Crysis world, minus the feud between the two.

Not all of them, some are alive. Just the ones you played in Crysis 1 and Warhead definitely did die in comics.

The survivors have fully bonded with their nanosuits and are no-longer true humans.

piss off

You're not the judge of what is or isn't a good story.

actually i would say i am an exquisitely good judge of what is a good story and what isn't. i have read literally 1,000's of them. i've basically done it as a full-time job for the last 4/5 years. i have studied narrative formalism and narratology. if i can't determine what is a good story and what is a hackneyed, cliché bit of doggerel, who can? there are standards in this world, shifty. as much as it would convenience you for there to be none, and for everything to exist in meaningless relativity.

I enjoyed the Crysis story Uzique. You didn't. That doesn't mean it's crap.

You can critique something as far as inconsistency goes, and how the story is told or if there are errors of grammatical type but the story itself is not up for debate. Just like how I think Twilight is shit and thousands of teenage girls out there love. Who am I to say they have poor taste? Just like who are you to say that Crysis' story sucks.

no you can actually critique a story for the narrative and plot itself. the fabula and sujet. the narrative formalism. most stories actually structurally rely on preset templates and conventions that have been established in narratology over hundreds of years. the morphology of the folktale. don't you know that most of our favourite action movies and hollywood blockbusters have the same narrative structure as old brothers grimm fairytales? we love that shit. the way the villain will always be punished. the thematics of vengeance. is this all a little over your head? anyway, if you think the only way you can criticize a story is by checking that the english-writing is all good and spelt correctly and grammatically in-check, you are fucking nutso. what do you think film and book reviewers do for a living? check that the author put all the full-stops in the right place? jesus christ kid.

why look any further than the obvious? half life had/has a good storyline. it's compelling. the characters and world are rich. in crysis they are empty clichés. 'the macho trigger-happy dude'. 'the enigmatic tortured soul'. zzzzz. and yeah great job starting some discussion and not reading more than the first line. i bet that's how they teach you to read and argue in bible camp. 'bigotry' is a good word you should learn.

lol it's 5:30am and i'm about 3 beers down and typing hastily in between essay windows.

you might like to check the grammar of your second sentence, though, it's very messy. also do you mean "than" as a grammatical preposition? because 'that' as a declarative particle makes no sense.

have a good day

i agree with the sentiment of your post but pointing out a hasty typo makes the english student in me feel extremely hurt and distraught and all sorts of humiliated. i don't think i could ever live with the shame of someone actually thinking i did not know how to spell 'navel'. i'd be forced into a life of exile / forced ritual seppuku.

Gordon Freeman is the self-actualized incarnation of mindless nerd rage and has all the personality of a sack of potatoes. Most FPS characters suffer from huge writing flaws, though at least ones like Serious Sam have cheese going for them. But compared to Crysis guy, Freeman is fucking Shakespearean.
