Yes. Been to Florida multiple times. It's okay. From what Ken and GS tell me, Cali is a more Asian and economically developed Florida.

my uncle is selling everything he has in the family business and his home and cars and stuff to move and semi-retire in florida. he's like 40. he got some agent dude out there to basically go and buy up about $3mill's worth of catering company - businesses specialising in catering for all the golf courses and large villas and shit out there. i think he just wants to run a small-to-medium sized company and live comfortably. buying a house outright and just chilling in that 'orrible sweaty stinkzone. i might go out for a few months just to get a dose of sun and work some shit jobs. though of all my post-graduation plans, florida is probably the least appealing. something about the place is just... not right.

i'm not looking for a graduate career / permission to stay. though i know a girl that graduated the year ahead of me with a degree in english who is now out in tampa area actually, working in real estate. sounds okay. but florida is too hot for me, and definitely humid. the people are also just kinda very... odd... coming from a european background. 'louder than life' is an expression we'd use. just way over the top and over-enthusiastic. but then again i've mostly been around the orlando area, which seems to be this big bubble of tourism and fake-smiles. i'd just go there to get some sunshine for a few months and do shitty mindless work to make a bit of money.
