dsl, they look in libraries that not many people have been to in order to find old books that nobody has discovered. jay already ascertained this in a discussion a long time ago. occasionally they say something pretentious. mostly they are incredibly lazy.

funny that it's never the other way around with arts/humanities students belittling science and maths types. i guess our wider-reading educations equip us with a respect and awareness of life's wider intellectual limits. you science types seem to be inculcated with the ideological belief that you are the TRUE TRUTH SEEKERS and are singularly equipped to do GOD'S WORK, elevated above all other MERE MORTALS on the campus. i guess science departments are full of insecure socially stunted people telling each other this. like one big circle jerk of protractor-equipped affirmation. you go, guys. everyone else is more stupid and lazy than you. that's exactly it.

There is an (apparently) limited demand for people with those qualifications, so I truly hope you're an exceptional exemplar of your field.

I, personally, enjoy the mix of creativity and hard science that comes with engineering design.

I dropped chemical engineering to pursue a MA in conflict studies.

Drawing blueprints of oil refineries & water purification plants + adding calculations for every step in the system, analytical chemistry & quantum chemistry did not make me happy.
