Anyone else like trains on here? The schnider piggy backs tend to haul ass. I've ran along side one with my motorcycle doing 75 and staying with it. Like this one. Hes obviously not doing that speed in this video but this is the train. Q106

i can kinda understand train watchers that go for like the old steam-trains and trains with serious historical pedigree... cause they just want to be close to history, or to experience some technology from a bygone age, or something. it's voyeuristic. i don't understand people that are really into current bog-standard trains. who track like license plates and stuff. it makes no more sense to me than going car-spotting (oh wait some weirdos on this forum are always out with cameras doing that, too)

Pretty sure them and plane-spotters don't actually care much for the trains or planes, it's just about collecting registrations.

plane spotting is again more understandable to me. they're still pretty new technology and represent something of an engineering marvel. a plane taking off / in flight / landing is a total spectacle. i live like 1.5mi from heathrow's runways and whenever one of the bigger airbuses flies over, i'll still give it a glance. so i can understand the fascination. but trains are like 100+ years old. and modern trains are totally boring.
