i've read everything by him now. even the ethnomusicology book about rap music. i'm actually probably going to do my MA dissertation in part on his book about the concept of infinity. i need to brush up on my pre-college level math over this summer. he's one hell of a writer, such a range of material. he can do ultra-pomo, hardcore philosophy, literary criticism and serious college-level math all to a masterstroke. pretty impressive.Macbeth wrote:
No but I have heard of it. Speaking of DFW, are you currently on or did you finish Brief interviews?
i've gotta admit one of the main things that motivated me to come back to this forum was to laugh at dilbert's comic con thing. that was like a sincere and rare confession of the deviant, weird, social-misfit stereotype that i've suspected of him all along. now whenever he starts ranting about "hipsters" i know why. dilbert is the 40 year old dude that's going to comic conventions and trying to get close to the even-older 60 year old chicks in costume. no wonder he hates bright young things that have chosen a different path through their early 20's.
