b) i don't really dig jamie xx

You don't have to justify why you don't like it, I don't care, cause I like it. Not sure what being 15 has to do with it though.

it has no subtlety. it's about as engaging as a sbtrkt single. i.e. the territory of many an uninitiated 15 year old.

really none of it matters cause the future of london dubstep has arrived this week. thanks to blackdown and key sound.

So a remix of LOTR music with a voiceover from a Sci-Fi film is the future of London Dubstep?

the LHF release is easily one of the best releases to come out of the entire london scene. it is everything that dubstep envisioned itself to be like 6-7 years ago. they're keeping true to it. the 2xlp spans just about everything. of course a lotr sample isn't what makes it the pinnacle of dubstep - and that one song obviously isn't the best part of the album. but what they're doing is next level. sorry that it doesn't satisfy your criteria of having a blonde singer on it or loads of gurning twats in henley clothing moshing around to it. but there you go. you don't even need to open your mouth in this thread, really.

i guess what blackdown chooses to release is shit, cause it doesn't satisfy your taste. wait, do you even know who blackdown is? if it wasn't for him you wouldn't even be listening to the trendy radio 1-friendly dubstep you like to listen to and consider yourself so 'with it'. dubstep would be nowhere without blackdown's curation. but yeah i guess a 2xlp he puts out is whack.

Mine was a genuine question. That's what it sounded like to me. In my opinion.
If it's not the best one on the album, then why did you say it was the future of london dubstep?
Also, I didn't ever say I was a fan of Dubstep, always been DnB

it's a sample track from the album. the album is like 30 tracks long. sorry i didn't care to take the time to find the best 30-second sample imaginable for your discerning ears. the point was that what LHF are doing is extremely interesting and is actually progressive and sincere in a scene that for years now has been completely regressive, womp womp womp, and interested in going nowhere. LHF have been around since before dubstep became something every 15 year old girl had on their mobile phone, and they are committed to deep, serious, no bullshit best-era sound. they still encapsulate and continue on some of the spirit of the original london sound that has been blown-up on radio 1 so people like you can listen to it and bruk out at parties. the aesthetic of their sound is incredible - the attention to detail, the sampling, the exotic and far-out influences. it screams the original vibes of dubstep: the pirate-radio signal fading in and out of your speakers as you drive or walk through inside zone 3, picking up rinse.fm (before it was legit) and hearing shit that sounded like it was from another planet, being beamed down by aliens with machines. meditative, serious, weighty music. makes no apologies or any concessions to the crowd of mongs that want giant saw-sine mid-range skrillex bass. it's refreshing and at the same time, in 2012, almost new all over again. it's a very good thing for dubstep as a genre and as a movement/collective (most of which, of the london originals, have moved to berlin or given up - out of despair or disgust for what has happened now). that's why it's good.

I'm not really instructing you on anything. You don't have to listen to it. You probably won't. I'm just telling you why, in a small and historical way, it's important to the continued development of dubstep - the continuum, if you will. It's also a hugely anticipated release by virtue of LHF's kinda elusive, sparse release style. That and the fact it's put out by Blackdown gives it a massive seal of approval. It's a more important release than most of the weekly torrent of shite that is currently being produced under the 'dubstep' name.
