Okay i've been playing bf2 for like 30 minutes after i got the patch and i realizes that i am being sniped (one shot killed pretty much) by the L85A1 is it just me or has it gotten progressively better over the last couple patches?!
Not sure, maybe someone is just a good shot?

L85A1 has been good pre 1.2 on Single Fire. And its been Okay without it.

oh no.. dont tell me they've mixed up L85A1 and L96A1 in the Localization files

I dont' believe it. When I unlocked the L85A1 it was GREAT compared to the others, but compared to the G36E it sucked. Now I'm being outsniped with it too. And I know for a fact that I'm a damn good sniper. Something's wrong with it.
I have gotten a few 1 shot kills to the head with it. Dunno if they were already hurt or not, but it a pretty good weapon.

Its a gun that i really wanted to be good but wasnt,as everone says it seemed to be good on single shot mode only. is it just me or does it make a really piddley sound too! sounds like my gran coughing! i hope it is better,i will give it another go because of this thread! gonna be hard not to use my beloved G36 though! lol
The L85A1 has such a high deviation on auto though... If it didn't it would be the best gun in the game.
The L85A1 has damage 34, so a single shot to the head deals 102 damage, which is a fatality.
It's very good at long range in single shot. You can use it as a mini version of the SVD-style sniper rifle. Makes a good option for the squad-leader medic who needs to hang back providing fire-support for his squad before running in to put his buddies back together.
It's also quite good at very close range on full-auto. Decent rate of fire and able to kill non-armoured enemies in three hits.
It does kinda suck at medium range, though. The full-auto loses accuracy very quickly, and the single-shot isn't going to be fast enough to win against most other weapons.
It's been like this since 1.22 anyway, don't think there were any plans (or need) to change it for 1.3.

its always been good, just REALLY innacurate sometimes...they would list it under the change list.
l85 has always been able to get 1 shot kills.
sometimes i'll have an "l85 day" and i'll just set myself up long range outside of flags get headshots.

The L85 makes an awesome short/mid range sniper, perfect for a medic, but doesn't pack the punch or accuracy in close that a burst firing G36E provides. My third favorite gun besides the SCAR/M4. I like to be able to headshot enemies out at a fair distance, preferably before they see me (massive ping, I will lose stright up, check my stats).
I noticed that too I kept getting one shot killed by the same weapon(L85A1) I was like what gives lol. .....
