Localization problems after 1.3? ToR to the rescue!

Well, i recently figured this out. So bear with me

It seems that the patch only made variables for SF, the variables that contain the vehicle drop text etx, so instead of seeing the message, you would see the command text that triggers the text that should be there, i made a quick, thirty second guide on how to fix that if you are having any problems.

Open this directory: Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\Localization\English\English_mappacks.utxt And find this:

Copy what is selected in the screenshot then open up this directory: Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Localization\English\English_Mappacks.utxt

Scroll down to the bottom and paste what you copied right where i've placed it:

Now, save both files and close, now go play!

I have no idea why this is but in my localization pack i will add this file in, but it wont be untill the weekend that i realease my global pack, as i was waiting for this patch to release my pack to the general public. But use this as a temp fix

This aint for promoting localization tutorials/packs, this thread is for people having trouble after the patch, If you don't have a problem please, don't post here.

Looool, I was trying to help that guy. Why i wanna promote someone elses work in the midle of problem solving? I had the same problem like he did because I had custom files when i run the incremental patch and it didnt upgrade my localization files.
I fixed the problem by replacing old files with new custom files (only source for v1.3 files at that time) without needing to use the full patch.

Yeah, simple for people with T3 connections. The rest of us would rather not have to deal with a 5-hour download.

Suit yourselves. I use T1 so the time to probably download isn't very much for me and I can wait anyway. Plus i'd rather not screw around with BF2 files.

Thanks a lot, PunkX! The patcher patched my SF files too instead of my vanilla files and I was gettin' tired of lookin' at the codes for them.

you dont state the original problem as being the reason this fix is needed. localization? in sf? huh?
dont know about any problems with the vehicle drop u show. so no idea what you mean
