The sound wasn't even the main issue. Even a deaf person with mediocre night vision would have seen the walker in that full moon in an open field with no tall grass.

-1 to the screen writers for that.

However, I can criticize a show all day as can you guys. What would really be interesting to discuss is how you guys would have made it play out differently. How would you have made that scene work?

Only one walker got through the swamp and that was because of Carl. Also, Dale doesn't know the knife trick Rick taught Shane.

The walker eating the cow, in my scenario, could have seen some other life form (cow, deer, dog, etc.) that "provided the necessary conditions for it to pulls it's foot out." Plus there were logs, rocks and who knows what other conditions a walker may have used. There is obviously roads/paths in and out of the farm. Who knows all the conditions around the farm? I don't see how you can conclude that only under that circumstance could a walker have got into the farm.

How did the walker get in the well?

The knife trick? Who doesn't know that the walkers are attracted to sound? Who doesn't know that a knife makes less noise than a gun?

Ha...now you can get a grade for talking about zombies all day.  I would take this course.

Every single show has stupid shit happen in it from time to time is why. You watch a quick clip and use it to paint the whole show. Insert comparison to everyone of lowings arguments here.


That being said it was an incredibly stupid scene. Big open field. Don't see a walker (one can assume that it was up and moving about, they don't seem to try to hide much), do see a cow on its side, slaughtered.
