I like the Mass Effect universe as a whole, I really do, but that it taking it too far. Here are two examples of (argubly) more important sci-fi:You already knew that Mass Effect is quite possibly the most important science fiction universe of our generation
It's actually funny to point out that, while they scrapped story lines for "being too similar to Star Trek or Babylon 5", they kept the Quarian's backstory in, which honestly looks like it was taken straight out of Battlestar Galactica.

Liking it a lot so far. The side missions leading up to the finale have been at least so far fun as hell. Original missions, no more probing planets, and twists in almost every single one. There's one where you have to rescue kids being attacked by Cerberus in a school for the gifted that has one of the coolest moments in the series. Also, the gun play has been really refined. Bioware did a good job with it and the whole "readiness" metagame.
However, it feels like a slightly updated ME2 in terms of visuals. I really feel like I'm playing ME2 with a new story most of the time. Graphics aren't much better, cover still sucks, gunplay while refined is pretty similar and you're even back on the same Normandy you were in ME2. Could've been room for a lot of improvement but Bioware decided not to. I would've been perfectly happy waiting another year to get a new engine, graphics updates and radically new/better gameplay like the change from ME1 -> ME2.

Game's not bad. I much preferred the character development and plot of the second game. I wasn't expecting all these crappy little cameos.
Also no krogan teammate in this game wtf

Vega is close enough to a Krogan. Plus Wrex does tons of fucking shit, a new krogan would just get upstaged tbh.Aries_37 wrote:

I didn't upload a save so no Wrex for me. Got his intolerable brother instead who I hope dies later.
I figured his Wreav would play a part for those who didn't save Wrex on Virmire (Or was it Ilos? No idea). They basically kept repeating themselves that "OH THANK GOD YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH WREAV, THAT'D BE TERRIBLE!".Aries_37 wrote:

Just finished. I concur with the general internet in saying
When I replace the game as paragon, I won't bother with the end sequence.the general internet wrote:
ME3 is a fantasic game, amazing in quality and storyline and really build quite well on the last 2 games -- as long as you don't play the last 15 minutes
Does that mean Star Trek is a sci-fi of this generation because of Scott Bakula?henno13 wrote:

Holy shit, after the rather mixed bag that was the opening scene this game picked up really good. I´m giggling and cheering in waves in my chair. LOVING IT.
I'm ok with the ending. Took me a while, but I'm ok with it now.
I'll say one thing... the MP is fun as shit. I really recommend it. Barely any learning curve, pretty balanced, and it'll take a while to level each class to 20+.
