Total loss? Fuck I've repaired worse over a weekend. Wish I could buy it back from your insurance.max wrote:
doesn't look like much. But the axle is fucked. And all the metal bits are bent. The bonnet was wedged shut. Only got it open with 2 other guys. Xenon and washer is is fucked. I actually skidded sideways for 1.5-2m. But at least I could move it off the road. For a car that's worth only like €8000 chances are it'll make no sense to repair.
I did. And I've fixed worse over a weekend. On a 325i nonetheless.

Sure, if it was newish, I'd repair it. The car is 9 years old now. Spending €8000 to fix a car that would only be worth €8000 if it wasn't crashed makes no sense. Front axle is fucked, everything from the A pillar forwards is deformed. New Xenons aren't cheap either. Also it was leaking oil from somewhere. And there's more stuff that I would have needed to replace soonish anyhow. Shit adds up. New clutch, new alternator, new battery too probs, etc. I'll take the money from the insurance company, sell it off for a €1000, the car gets shipped off to some third world shithole and that's that. Cars that had an accident are a pain anyhow. Something always ends up misaligned.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Still in better condition than mine is.
Just sold it. I'll miss it

so you have a frame rack and about 3 to 5K to spend in parts?PigPopTart wrote:

Have access, yes. Though I seriously doubt it will need frame work.
I'm not sure how insurance policies work over the water. Is there an option to buy the vehicle back in its damaged state (for a lesser price obviously) after your payout?

in the UK you can at least, lets you get a second cost/scrap value assesment, then you can do whatever you want with the wreck (although the end product has to be declared)

I guarantee it needs to go on a rack but what do I know since I own a body shopPigPopTart wrote:

This guy. Listen to him. It's also the first thing the dekra expert said. I could go on about what dekra is, but basically they specialize on looking at cars and finding faults. They're independent and get paid the same whatever the result, so you can trust their judgement.Christbane wrote:

I don't think there is anything about it visually that I do like.

agreed... the FF is nowhere near as ugly as it appears. it's still ugly though, this may be the same but not as ugly as an FFwest-phoenix-az wrote:
