Anyone have a suggestion for a good scotch?
Can't find any 1992 12 year old Glen Rothes anywhere.
The 15 year old Glen Rothes they have in stock tastes like utter ass.
Smooth finish, charred oak notes, .. like what a Pinot Noir or Merlot is to red wine, those general characteristics as they translate to a scotch.

Laphroiag is a peaty, heavy scotch. personally, i like Macallan's and Glenlivets, because this fucking state doesn't import any single malts that cost more.rdx-fx wrote:

Will see if I can find it around here.
Looks like it'd be pronounced La Frog.
Y'all aren't tryin' to sell me some French moonshine piss, now are ya?
I started my whisky enjoying career with blended. I think it was Bell's what dad brought home and at some point I had a go. Thought it was horrible shite at first but after a few tastes I started to like the stuff. At one point I started buying bottles on one night cruises and I had 11 sealed bottles and one or two open ones Then my back went kaboom. And when the painkillers didn't work, I ditched them and thought why not have a smile during the agony, so I emptied them in a few months with my buddy who got fired with a 6 months pay during the same time But then he got a new job and I was ronery with empty bottles Anyhoo, all whisky I buy nowadays is smoky and peaty single malt. Yumm..! And the occasional J&D, Jim Beam small batch (which isn't imported anymore ) or Jameson.13urnzz wrote:

i have nothing against blended scotch whisky, when your alternative is milk. my favorite so far is a 21 year old Glenlivet ( followed by the 18, and 15 French oak aged). Macallan ages wonderfully. Honestly, try malts from the different regions (Islay, Highlands, etc) and then different ages.
Glenmorangie 15 i recall was a nice find (thanks Camm) but the fuckers don't stock it regularly. There are nice surprises out there from the smaller distillers if you have the patience to try them.

Winter is coming and I need something new. Suggest a coat guys. Keep in mind two things - my fav color is black and I hate constrictive clothing.
Karma for winner.
