- my new video i hope you like it.
after obtaining expert sniper I rarely play the class anymore. I am more focused on score per minute, and my kd ratio right about now and although sniping helps the kd ratio... it doesnt help it by much. good video and plus one.
my mistake is geometry but puttin that setting up will make you see futher maybe not on maps like karkand but Definitely maps like wake

That's funny, after going from my 256MB Radeon 9800 with a mix of low/medium settings to my current 512MB X1900XTX I personally didn't see the drawing distance difference. Both had 100% draw distance set.Chillin&killin wrote:

I'd go back down to low to have a look but I don't want the hassle of having to wait extra whilst it does its extra video crap on map start whenever you change the settings.
EDIT: See http://media.putfile.com/Long-range-fla … ng-example for an example sniper shot in operation flashpoint, downloading a user made sniper rifle cos i'm going to do a 1.5KM shot video and you can only really get the kill if you use the SVD as a machine gun firing round after round because of bullet drift.

That game looks really shitty monkey.
I turned down the graphical detail, for that shot I set the view distance to 1.8KM...ssonrats wrote:

You can max out the viewing distance at 5KM.
And don't judge a book by the cover, Operation Flashpoint is one of the best if not the best war sim games around.
Plus you have to remember it isn't as new as BF2 AND the maps in OFP are thousands of kilometers square. That happened to be one of the more barren areas, there are forrests etc.

ah, i have the geometry on high as well, but i never thought to do lighting and shadows. thank you much for the input ill give it a rip later tonight.dont_be_ss wrote:

nice video mate
Basically 99% of the competetive community - and plenty of regular players have shadows and lighting set to low. It makes a world of difference on urban mapsthejigga wrote:

Yep, i'm not that much of a sad person (yet) that in order to get every last ounce of killage I set the graphics below what my card is capable of just for a few lousy kills.SargeV1.4 wrote:

I did comparison screenshots of the kind of difference this makes for some players a bit ago..
I'll dig them out here...
Relatively hard to spot that guy in my crosshair, who got killed about a second after I took that screenshot.
Then contrast with just how easy it is to see under there, anybody hiding there would be dead within seconds if anyone had their shadows on low.
that is why i have mine on low, but i enjoy sniping and his draw distance destroys mine so ill gladly give it a shot since i play wake quite often.SargeV1.4 wrote:

Good stuff. I'm gonna have to make a video tonight or something. +1
Excellent example. I tried that once but I just couldn't get into it. I like the immersive experience of the game and med- high lighting gives you that. Thanks for the illustration!EvilMonkeySlayer wrote:
