I just don't get it. Its part of the game. There will be times when you will be screwed and you will die 20+ times as you try to make your way out of a your only remaining base...but that part of the game. I don't care if you have no chance! I don't care if its not fair!!! If your team puts itself in the position to only have one flag then you deserve the ass whooping and the other team deserves to spank you until you cry "daddy". Those that complain are basically saying: "we didn't play as a team, we didn't follow our commander's orders, we got our ass kicked in combat, but still...give us a chance to get back into the game...otherwise its not fair". HA! Guess what, you deserve your fate. If you don't like it and don't want to ruin your k/d ration then don't respawn. Or better yet, rethink your approach to teamwork and you won't find yourself in this position again.
As far as a tank sitting around and picking of those who spawn at a point, well that's fine by me to. Spawn somewhere else. Or better yet, respawn with an anti tank kit and the tank don't stand much chance. Believe me, i have plenty of hours in a tank but there's not much to do when a determined anti-tank attack is launched on you.
There's a saying: "All's fair in love and war"...if you accept this proverb, then you'll have to agree that there's NO such thing as baseraping:)

Your arguement is really weak to defend statpading/base raping. Weakest thing i have read in these forums yet. Only a statpadder or short school bus rider would be okay with spawn camping or raping. If that what your skill is limited to, be my guest. I don't have respect for that. Theres no good excuse for it. Heres my reasons you don't need to resort to such low tactics.
1. If its a cappable flag then be in range to cap it
2. If its untakeable you got no business being there unless your blowing up commander assets or stealing a vehicle
3. You can always defend the bases you do have (you get an extra point for killing an enemy in flag cap range = 3 points as appossed to the usual 2 for a kill)
4. EVEN WAR HAS RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.

2. If its untakeable you got no business being there unless your blowing up commander assets or stealing a vehicle

If I am in a tank at the last flag there is no way in hell I am going to drive up to the flag and wait for the flag to come down while enemy infantry are spawning all around me. I will wait for backup to arrive and then cap with them. If that means I "spawn camp" waiting for backup so be it but I am not going to do a solo suicide mission.

I have had games were we held all flags yet the enemy had two squads in our base!
Raping uncappables must be the most pathetic way to get kills! Worse then the plane whores!

I think base raping is fine, I just hate the idiots who on karkland sit outside the first spawn in the tank just mowing down people, they end up with 20-40 kills, but lose every time because thats all they do, they don't support their teams advance, don't try to help the team get to any flags, they are just stat whoring. I don't think its necessarily wrong to do this, I just think those players suck. It takes skill to ride along in the tank, hit targets while your still moving and supporting your teams advance on flags. not as much skill as it takes to use infantry kits, but still more than sitting outside the first spawn stat whoring.
Base Raping I believe is when you just got to a uncappable base and just start shooting people spawning there, but it is not if you steal vehicles or destroy the commando toys. I've seen many people just high-tail it to the uncappable base just to peg people off, not stealing vehicles or destroying toys, just sniping the spawn points -- that is Base Raping.

I also think the static flag rape is kind'a BS.. In real war people attack behind enemy lines. attack the enemy's HQ. Make covert operations to destroy, for instance, an enemy airfield.. Terrorism... and so on and so on...

Although I agree with certain points, (with the person who stated this post,) the object of most war is to complete objectives. Not simply killing. Most battles are actually fought with regard to how many casualties can be prevented on both sides. Now to the game, which is more important.
Try to think of it from the victim's point of view. They are there to have a good time, and when you spend 95% of your time re-spawning, no-one has much fun. Especially when people like me have to pay to play BF2, (My computer can barely handle 'Solitair',) at an iCafe. Then it's a waste of time AND money.

If u didnt notice i was basically talking to the people who thought there was no such thing as baseraping like power there who think its ok to baserape cause they have no bases. If they have no bases thats not always there fault that they have none. Even the teams that have the best teamwork would be forced back because of rapers and eventually have one base. thats not the defenders fault they have only one base left. Also noobs are the ones that have alot of kills due to tanks and apcs. Not people like urself who just want to have fun. Anyone who is having fun is not a noob. usually.
