look newbie, i was just deadly honest with the guy and said i wasn't accepting his item the minute i opened it. within 10 minutes of having it open i had taken photos and had written a polite and concise list of reasons why he should arrange a recollection because the item was sold on COMPLETELY false information. the only ebay picture he provided kindly glanced over the several huge flaws that meant it wouldn't even WORK. all i did was refuse to pay for the turntable to be sent back... reasonable and fair imo. insured courier deliveries of very heavy, very fragile, very expensive items does not come cheap. my secondary point was hoping in a half-joking half-still-angry manner that this guy would be so afraid that he got caught out that he'd basically drop the item in my lap and leg it. afaik he's arranging a recollection now and it is sat in my hallway very nicely packed with some bubble-wrap and safety material. i also cleaned the turntable when i first received it. it's going back to him in better condition than it left him, and his massive ebay fuck-up has cost him nothing but a courier fee. i'll even positively rate his transaction if this all goes smoothly. how is that "domino dickery"? please.
i've just spent £375 on another, anyway
went for the better model this time. the m3d instead of the mk2. this one was an AMAZING deal. buy it now for £375 on a turntable that was bought years ago and is in immaculate condition. never left a bedroom and has only ever been used as a 'secondary' turntable for a guy that gave up DJ'ing and kept his first turntable for playing records only. that means i get the spare unused one
. actually has loads of hi-qual photos this time... and everything is spotless. big relief, even though i'm parting with £125 more than my original budget. meh. if i look after it it'll gain in value over time.
