Well to most people, music is opinion based, you either like a genre or you don't, but there are artists and musicians out there that everyone can agree are good. Like, you may be into rap and stuff, but you really like listening to Mozart (I don't know, just some famous musician) because you can appreciate the musical talent they have.Kampframmer wrote:

But this argument is stemming back from what whatshisface said a few pages back. He wasn't criticizing the music, he never said it was bad or good, he just stereotyped me because I listen to that kind of music, and I felt I had to defend myself. I don't expect everyone on here to like the same music I do, if I did, I'd have no right to even be in this thread.

I probably would have given Brothers an 8/10, this is more like a 7 at most. Not terrible, but not that impressive. If this album was the first I had heard from them I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to any more of their work. (Pretty disappointing, tbh.)
All of their prior albums seemed to each take a step forward in refining their "signature sound", if you will (which is none too original, but still managed to feel fresh considering what it's up against in the current "rock" market)...
Well, this is sort of a step sideways, and maybe backwards at the same time. It's not that I don't want their sound to change - Brothers did just that, and was really well received all around - but everything just manages to sound like a ripoff mishmash of older rock songs...and not in a flattering way.
I'm sure it will be acclaimed and loved, though. Either I'm just getting old, or everyone else's tastes are getting worse
