This was on the Pendulum Essential Mix, didn't notice it when I saw the film though.
The one at the start of this year? I still haven't got about to listening to that, though nothing will ever beat the EM they did back in 2005 just after Hold Your Colour got released, as in before they went all lolstream.

Also the movie is really quite good, I enjoyed it but I know a friend of mine I was with thought it was too artsy but she's not as into 80's pastiche as I am.

Anyway on topic, this album has been good to me recently and has been getting a ton of playtime.

here's another slab of excellence, totally free album

quote from the creator:

Its got a hella lot deep tape saturated forest-techno tracks on it and when I say Techno i dont mean that boooooooooooring contemporary shit they call techno nowadays with overrated tallentless pretentious douchebag cunt DJs playing a few halfassed dumb mongo beats and being all arty fartsy about it. F*ck that, I am talking about: Raw as fuck autistic Star Trek 1987- Misty Forests- X-FILES,- DETROIT unicorn futurism made on cheap ass digital & analog crap synthesizers recorded in a ragtag bedroom studio on a TEAC VHX cassettedeck in DOLBY C with an unintelligible yet soulfull vivacity.

The one they did around the time of 'Immersion'.

My favorite thing about Essential Mixes is how Pete Tong talks over everything.

my favourite part about essential mixes is how completely inessential they are

Wow, it's like it was written to speak to just me: an angst ridden young adult with no clear direction in life!

If you don't like the music, keep your thoughts to yourself. I could care less what you have to say about it.
Did you even listen/look at the lyrics? How does it imply that I'm angst ridden?

Sorry to say, but you don't even know who I am ffs, so stop stereotyping people for the sake of nothing better to do.

tbh metalcore and metal in general is 'mainstream' for teenagers and people of your age demographic. you think you're being different and going against the trend and all but metal in general has had a massive upsurge in 'cool' popularity since like - what? - the reinvention of straight-edge hardcore? moving into metalcore and deathcore and -core being appended to everything? you're hardly being subversive by listening to metal anymore.

besides that entire line of argument is pointless because whether or not it's 'mainstream' and 'popular', it's still undeniably bad.

Oh yea I know most "teens" and such listen to it, but I can't handle the mainstream metal, like Bullet For My Valentine for example.

I listen to stuff that most people have never heard of. Yet when I post a song that I'm listening to, I get criticized, stereotyped, etc. Hypocritically, I admit that I hate on rap and hiphop and all that "garbage", but I don't seek out a song that someone posts and hate on it.

edit: And don't think I take what a random person on an internet forum says to heart. It doesn't bother me, I just don't understand why when I post something, people instantly criticize it.

In your opinion it's bad, but to me, and other people as well, it is good music. Whereas when I hear rap and hiphop, I think it's "bad".

so what the fuck are you crying about, cryan. hate on people that like underground hip-hop, non-mainstream hip-hop, and hip-hop that "most people have never heard of"... yet when people hate on your garbage, it's all WAHHHHHHHH DON'T POST IF YOU DON'T LIKE. you literally just made yourself completely redundant in about 3 posts, and we didn't even have to say/do anything. great job!

I post a song and instantly I get criticized. I'm defending myself.

if someone posted a hiphop song here and you saw it, you'd hate. it shows up as a 'new post', you view, and you respond. that's all people are doing here. get over yourself, we're not part of some secret anti-metal anti-cryan brigade. b@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@W

Yea, I would respond, likely with "Meh, I'm not partial to this kind of music."

I post a song and get stereotyped as an "angst ridden young adult."
Wtf?

Everyone hates on me for what I post on the site. Now you're gunna say "wah wah cryan" and I don't care, I've heard it a million times.

if it's praise it's fine, if it's criticism then suddenly it's just a matter of opinion
