author lp is pretty meh. the pinch and shackleton is great. my friend is working for honest jon's, they're a real small shop/label and only put out quality cuts like that.aimless wrote:

he's a deceent producer, but sadly the way of the world nowadays is that good producers are expected to also be great dj's and to also tour and put on great live shows. lots of money and interest in electronic music in the last 5 years and to be on top of your game you're expected to do more than just make tunes in your bedroom. what's more, all the new generation of kids coming up have all these skills... look at the hessle audio lot. bunch of just-outta-uni kids from leeds that produce, dj, run clubnights, have their own label, their own web presence, etc. everyone with a computer and a MIDI keyboard and a $15 copy of fruityloops can make music now.

i have no idea what relevance that man has. he can't dj. skrillex has basically just taken the same metal-loving macho-bro audience that followed him in his previous emo metal band and exposed them to a shitty version of electronic music. he's not impressing anyone in dance music.
