By popular demand (I think?) I'll field some questions about BF3, Battlefield, getting into the industry, and maybe even some personal stuff. Please respect that I cannot comment on some things related to BF3 (I like my job and would like to keep it).

I have been a designer for 6 years, starting out on Battlefield 2142. Before that I was a Computer Science student and built Half Life and Battlefield mods/maps. I'm also an American living abroad at DICE's HQ in Stockholm, Sweden. AMAA

Update: Thanks everyone for your questions, I'm sorry I could answer them all, but I hope this was informative for all of you. You can reach me on twitter @Demize99, and I read r/Battlefield3 quite often as well.

I actually hate that I can't go through parts of the building. The buildings act as "funnel points" on maps. While I understand the appeal from a level design aspect, I loved the ability to go through any building on the map in BC2. Making a door with C4 or a rocket to get the drop on an enemy squad was so much fun!

BC2 is my favorite Kool-Aid Man simulator, except my pitcher is full of blood.
